Description
The ICP DAS tDS-700-UL series module is a tiny Serial-to-Ethernet device server that can convert RS-232/422/485 serial communication format to Ethernet communication format, enabling previously non-networked devices to connect to a network. After setting through VxComm Driver/Utility, the built-in COM Port of the module can be virtualized as a standard PC COM port in Windows, allowing for quick deployment in various network applications without the need for additional software installation or modification.
This module supports pair-connection applications (serial-bridge or serial-tunnel), allowing two hosts, servers, or non-Ethernet devices to establish a stable TCP/IP connection for data transmission and device control. The built-in Web Server provides an intuitive web interface, and users can access and set network and serial port parameters via a standard web browser. The module has a dual Watchdog mechanism. If there is no actual communication within the preset time or the system has an abnormal communication problem, the module will be triggered to restart to ensure stable operation of the device in a harsh environment.
The compact design of the tDS-700-UL greatly saves installation space. It can be directly connected to serial devices or embedded in various machines, offering flexible and convenient installation. It supports IEEE 802.3af PoE (Class 1) and DC power supply, with an ultra-low power consumption design to reduce energy costs. It also provides 3000 VDC isolation and +/-4 kV ESD protection component, effectively safeguarding equipment against overvoltage damage.
In addition, the module has obtained UL certification, meeting strict safety standards including fire resistance, electric shock protection, and durability requirements. This ensures stability and safety across various usage environments, providing consumers with reliable quality assurance. The UTA version uses conformal coating technology that offers excellent resistance to moisture and salt spray, making it particularly suitable for coastal and high-humidity environments.
