Multi-access edge computing (MEC), also referred to mobile edge computing, is an ETSI-defined network architecture concept that enables cloud computing capabilities and an IT service environment at the edge of the cellular network and, more in general at the edge of any network.
The idea about MEC system is that by running applications and performing related processing tasks closer to the cellular customer, network congestion is reduced, and applications perform better. MEC technology is designed to be implemented at the cellular base stations or other edge nodes and enables flexible and rapid deployment of new applications and services for customers.
Embedding elements of information technology and telecommunications networking, MEC allows cellular users to open their radio access network (RAN) to authorised third parties including application developers and engineers.
The JHCTECH BRAV-7721 series are workstation-grade Edge computing system that are powered by Intel® Alder Lake-S series CPU with Q670 chipset, dual-channel DDR5 memory, and four PCIe expansions. This series offers flexible optional computing power, multi IO interfaces, high PFC power supply , high efficiency cooling solution and industrial grade reliability design which makes them suitable for V2X MEC, highway event detection, unmanned experiment vehicle and high-precision machine vision and other field applications.
